As Work Health & Safety Lead, youll architect and elevate a best-practice WHS framework, embed a proactive safety culture, and champion holistic physical and psychological wellbeing across diverse teams. The Opportunity This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced Work Health & Safety professional who wants to shape strategy, influence culture, and make meaningful impact. As Work Health & Safety Lead, you will design, embed and continuously enhance a best-practice WHS and wellbeing framework that supports both physical and psychological safety across a multi-site, values-led organisation. You will partner closely with executive leaders and managers to strengthen risk capability, uplift compliance standards, and foster a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture aligned to a strong social purpose. What Youll Do Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive WHS management system across multiple sites and jurisdictions. Drive a proactive safety culture by embedding risk management, early intervention, and wellbeing initiatives organisation-wide. Provide expert advice to leaders on WHS legislation, injury management, workers compensation, and psychological safety. Oversee incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, and compliance reporting, identifying trends and implementing continuous improvement strategies. Chair and facilitate WHS committee meetings, ensuring meaningful consultation and engagement at all levels. Champion holistic wellbeing programs that support mental health, physical health, and safe systems of work. Deliver engaging training and education sessions to uplift safety capability across the workforce. Monitor data and reporting metrics to inform leadership decision-making and strengthen governance practices. What You Bring Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Risk Management, or a related discipline. Proven experience leading WHS frameworks within complex or multi-site environments. Deep knowledge of contemporary WHS legislation across Australian jurisdictions. Demonstrated expertise in injury management and workers compensation, with strong return-to-work outcomes. Experience conducting workplace investigations, audits, and compliance reviews. Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels. Analytical capability to interpret data and translate insights into practical, measurable improvements. A genuine commitment to fostering inclusive, psychologically safe workplaces.
