JobID: 1138 Position Type: Administration/ Assistant Supt. for Curriculum/Instruction Date Posted: 3/3/2026 Location: Brighton Education and Community Center Date Available: 07/01/2026 Closing Date: 04/06/2026 POSITION: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, Technology, and Assessment (CITA) REPORTS TO: Superintendent SCHEDULE: 12-Month (260 days) LOCATION: BECC, 125 South Church St, Brighton, MI 48116 STARTING DATE: July 1, 2026 RATE OF PAY: $145,000 to $157,000 (Depending on Experience) POSITION DESCRIPTION The Brighton Area Schools is seeking a positive, collaborative and passionate instructional leader to join our award winning school district. This individual will be responsible for leading our district''s forward movement in the areas of curriculum, instruction, instructional technology, and assessment. This individual will lead a department that will include a second CITA administrator, a team of coaches and TOSAs, as well as clerical support staff. General areas of responsibility include professional learning, curriculum review and revision, program development, Student and Federal grants and compliance, instructional technology, assessment, and more. Specific duties and the deployment of departmental assets will be determined in collaboration between the individual chosen for this position and the superintendent. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Master''s degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum is the minimum standard, but advanced degrees (Ph.D, Ed.D or Ed.S) are more typical for this level of position. A minimum of five (5) years as a successful district curriculum leader and/or building-level instructional leader. Experience as a building-level lead principal is viewed as an important step in the development of a successful district-wide instructional leader. A minimum of five (5) years as a successful JK-12 classroom teacher. Michigan School Administrator Certification (Central Office endorsement preferred).
