Senior Director, Financial Planning and Analysis Brisbane, CA Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA), is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Veras mission is to advance treatments that target the source of immunologic diseases in order to change the standard of care for patients. Veras lead product candidate is atacicept, a fusion protein self-administered at home as a subcutaneous once weekly injection that blocks both B-cell Activating Factor (BAFF) and a Proliferation Inducing Ligand (APRIL), which stimulate B cells to produce autoantibodies contributing to certain autoimmune diseases, including IgA nephropathy. Vera is also evaluating the role of atacicept in other immunologic disorders. Additionally, Vera is developing VT-109, a novel, next-generation dual BAFF/APRIL inhibitor in preclinical development, and MAU868, a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize infection with BK virus, a polyomavirus that can have devastating consequences in certain settings such as kidney transplant. Position Summary The Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will report to the Vice President, FP&A and serve as the finance business partner to the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, and Chief Regulatory Officers organizations. In this handson role, this leader will deliver bestinclass FP&A partnership to the business, and support Veras first product launch in rare kidney disease. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, experienced, executionfocused leader who can foster strong collaboration with business partners and inspire and lead a small team. The candidate will possess a reputation for delivering outstanding financial partnership, and a track record of supporting Commercial, and product launches, in the biotech/pharma sector. The role will initially be an individual contributor supporting Commercial, CMC, IT, and Facilities, and is expected to grow into a team lead position with added responsibility of supporting the Chief Regulatory Officers organization (Regulatory, Quality, Medical Writing). Business partner assignments may evolve over time. Responsibilities Partner with each executive leader in areas of responsibility, and their teams, to ensure financial considerations are incorporated in business decisions. Deliver insightful and timely management reporting at the functional and executive levels. Develop fit-for-purpose financial analytics for areas of responsibility to enhance transparency and decisionmaking. Lead strategic planning processes (e.g. budget, forecast, longrange plan) for areas of responsibility. Identify strategic opportunities and challenges. Drive additional rigor in R&D investments, and adoption of programlevel reporting and planning - including clinical trial costs. Develop concise and insightful presentations with conclusions and recommendations for functional and executive management. Analyze productivity drivers, identify risks and opportunities to business performance, work crossfunctionally to implement recommended actions. Ensure close collaboration with accounting and other teams to ensure alignment of actual results and forecasts and to support monthend close and financial reporting. Perform adhoc analyses and special projects as needed. Hire, coach, and develop FP&A talent. Promote a culture of high engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality. Qualifications Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred. 12+ years experience in biopharmaceuticals finance/FP&A with progressive leadership growth, including 3+ years of managerial experience. Highly effective written and oral communication skills, including distilling complexities into key takeaways, delivering clear and compelling presentations, and demonstrating executive presence. Experience supporting Commercial and product launches. Extensive experience analyzing data across financial and operational systems to derive meaningful business insights. Extensive experience with Excel and PowerPoint, ERPs (e.g. Netsuite), and financial planning systems (e.g. Adaptive). Working knowledge of GAAP. Attention to detail with ability to move easily between handson work and strategic thinking. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Vera Therapeutics Inc. is an equalopportunity employer.
