The Role We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Services team. Reporting to the vCloud Director, this role is responsible for helping design, develop and deploy a wide variety of technologies to support the overall AUCyber platform from initial conception through to MVP. You will work across cloud, virtualisation and cyber security services, supporting technologies throughout the AUCyber stack for enterprise and commercial customers. This includes working in a mix of leading commercial and open-source solutions to deliver best-value outcomes. Key Responsibilities Explore and evaluate new and emerging engineering tools, processes and technologies Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency across the AUCyber platforms Design, develop and configure new solutions aligned to business requirements Produce architecture diagrams and as-built documentation Share knowledge, insights and best practices within the organisation Ensure solutions align with security and compliance requirements To be successful in this role you will need Demonstrated experience with the VMware stack (vSphere, vCloud Director & NSX) Experience with OpenShift & OpenStack Experience with one or more public cloud platforms Strong background working within complex enterprise environments Proficiency in Bash (or similar), PowerShell, Python or Go Experience with image build technologies such as Packer Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible Experience implementing authentication and authorisation platforms (LDAP / Active Directory, SAML / OIDC, identity federation) Understanding of security requirements within regulated environments (e.g. Australian Government ISM, ISO27001) Experience with operating system hardening (e.g. CIS benchmarks) Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Industry certifications across VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud) Security & Compliance Our organisation operates under an ISO 27001 compliant Information Security Management System.
