Duties include requirements decomposition, development, design, implementation, testing, and support, ensuring compliance with external and internal customer requirements. Work type : Hybrid Location : Providence, Utah or Perth, Australia Visa Sponsorship : Not approved Relocation : May provide assistance within home country Shift Timings : 40 hours per week Responsibilities Design and develop obstacle detection and avoidance algorithms in C++ and Python in a Linux/ROS2 environment. Participate in the product development lifecycle, including requirements refinement, design, development, testing, and documentation following Scrum methodologies. Collaborate on design and code reviews to ensure quality and shared success. Adopt a datadriven, objective approach to problem understanding and solution definition. Analyze production data to diagnose and correct defects. Evaluate and optimize algorithms for computational efficiency. Evaluate and test perception sensors (LiDAR, RADAR, cameras). Collaborate with crossfunctional engineering teams for interface definition and integration. Work closely with the product team to clarify customer/business requirements before design. Communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally. Adopt a testingfirst mentality, including unit, integration, and system testing. Requirements Formal education: Bachelors in Engineering. Masters or PhD preferred, with an emphasis on Robotics. Minimum experience: Bachelors 5+ years; Masters/PhD 3+ years. Strong proficiency in ROS2, Linux, C++ and Python. Expertise in objectoriented design, SOLID principles. Proven track record of delivering highquality solutions on time. Experience with software integration and tuning for obstacle detection/avoidance. Experience using Git. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong understanding of LiDAR, RADAR, camera technology and sensor fusion. Knowledge of perceptionaided localization and obstacle classification, especially in harsh environments. Analytical problemsolving skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards. Machine learning algorithm experience is a plus. Experience with CUDA GPU algorithms is a plus. Mining industry experience is a plus. Ability to travel (including internationally) up to 10% per year.
