Job Description

The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool, the Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush. Sovereign Hill is seeking a proactive and experienced Head of Financial Reporting and Analysis to work collaboratively with a diverse team to deliver accurate and timely financial and nonfinancial reporting and analysis and support timely and datadriven business decisionmaking. Duties & Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and analysis processes and support improvements in financial management capabilities across the business. Lead the timely completion of accurate monthly, yearly and adhoc financial reporting. Ensure accurate maintenance of the Association''s accounting records and ledgers. Lead the budget and forecasting processes for both internal and external requirements. Lead and manage management reporting functions, including providing timely and accurate performance reporting. Perform financial system administration duties to ensure financial reporting systems enable accurate reporting of organisational information. Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, Australian Tax Office and other external financial regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively with roster managers on roster development and monitoring to support delivery in accordance with approved budgets. Lead the relationship with the Association''s banking, investment and audit providers. Desired Qualifications CA or CPA Qualification Preferred. Formal qualification in Business or Accounting required. At least 8 years accounting or finance experience, with demonstrated experience in leading a team. Role location This position is based onsite in Ballarat. Some flexible working arrangements may be negotiated but it is expected that weekly onsite attendance will be required for the duration of the appointment.
