For Purpose Aged Care is looking for a Full-Time Maintenance/Gardening Officer to join our state-of-the-art aged care facility in Narangba. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to maintain the interior and exterior of the building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required. To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate the following: Experience in building maintenance Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation Enjoy working outdoors 2-3 days a week minimum Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment Willingness to contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction Ability to weld would be an advantage Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.
