Job Description

The ACIC helps protect the Australian community from serious and organised crime. As a graduate, you wont be parked on the sidelines - youll contribute to real work, learn quickly and build credibility in an environment where integrity, discretion and professionalism are essential.The ACIC Graduate Program runs for 12 months and is designed to develop you from an APS level 4 to APS level 5 through a mix of structured learning and practical experience.Along with competitive pay and built-in progression to the APS level 5 on successful completion of the program, the ACIC offers:15.4% employer superannuationfour weeks annual leave plus an additional paid stand-down period over the holiday period at the end of the yearannual wellbeing reimbursements, study assistance and development opportunitiesinclusion networks and initiativesYoull complete three placements across the program and be supported through a simple, consistent development approach that includes:structured learning and APS foundationsself-directed learning supported by resources and promptson-the-job learning through your placementsregular coaching, mentoring and feedback.While there are two streams in 2027, Graduates complete the program as one cohort, with most activities delivered together (some in-person, some virtual).2027 streams include:1. TechnologyBest suited to graduates who want to apply technical skills to systems and capability that support criminal intelligence and policing information services, working in a governed environment with strong security expectations.Best suited to graduates who are analytical and curious, can work with complexity and can connect information to support decision-making in a high-trust environment.Mandatory requirements include that you must:have completed an undergraduate degree in 2026, or graduated within the last 3 yearsbe an Australian citizen at the time an offer is madebe eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearancesatisfy ACICs Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) requirementsImportant: The ACIC is a high-trust agency. Disclosure is mandatory throughout screening, including criminal history (spent or otherwise) and other relevant issues as required.The program is based in Canberra. If youre interstate, youll need to relocate to participate.
