Epworth HealthCare is seeking an experienced and motivated Health Information Manager or health professional to lead and coordinate staffing teams and key clerical functions across our Health Information Services (HIS) departments at Epworth Richmond and Epworth Freemasons. In this pivotal leadership role, you will ensure HIS resources, workflows, and services operate efficiently and meet all organisational, legislative, and accreditation requirements. A key focus of the position is maintaining high standards of customer service, supporting robust health record systems, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of information within our scanned medical record environment. This role is ideal for a proactive and solutionsfocused leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys driving process improvements, and is committed to providing exceptional service to clinical and administrative stakeholders. You will also oversee Epworths Medical Record Access team, the HIS Administration Officer, and contribute to Epworths progression toward digital health solutions for patients and doctors. Reporting to the Group Manager, HIS & Patient Revenue, you will be supported by experienced Site HIS Managers across multiple Epworth locations. As part of the HIS leadership team, you will actively contribute to shaping the strategic direction of the service, ensuring Epworth HealthCare remains a leader in Health Information Services within the private health sector. This position is based primarily at our Richmond campus, with the flexibility to work a portion of hours from home. This is a full-time12month maternity leave position until July2027, with a strong possibility of extension or permanency. Key Responsibilities Manage and support HIS clerical and administrative staff, including recruitment, performance development, and identification of training needs. Work collaboratively with the central HIS team to ensure timely and accurate scanning of records in line with service level expectations. Oversee privacy and information governance relating to health records, including supervision of requests for information for clinical, administrative, financial, insurance, and legal purposes. Coordinate medical record compliance requirements for public in private contracts Lead strategic and operational planning for Health Information Services, including ongoing evaluation and improvement of HIS systems and processes within the organisation. Partner with other HIS Site Managers to share best practice, contribute to standardised processes, and participate in organisation-wide initiatives that strengthen record management and data integrity. To be successful in this role, you will have: A Bachelor of Health Information Management or an equivalent qualification, or extensive experience within a healthcare environment Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capability, with a commitment to developing individuals and fostering highperforming teams Electronic or scanned health record platforms (e.g., BOSSnet) Microsoft Office Suite Why Join Epworth?
