With international hubs located in Australia, Europe, and the Middle East, we are united by one common purpose -we excel in creating sustainable solutions for a better world.Job DescriptionBESIX Watpac are looking for a Senior Estimator & Cost Planner to join our Estimating Team working as part of a collaborative team with an excellent culture tendering major projects across the Health, Defence, Commercial, Marine and Rail sectors.The key responsibilities of this position include:Perform a key role within the Estimating team, ensuring that all aspects relating to resources and costs have been consideredMaintain an understanding (and associated cost) of current and emerging construction techniques, products and methodologies.Establish and maintain regular contact with major suppliers, subcontractors, government authorities, clients and industry consultants where continual contact is important in the achievement of the company''s objectives.Utilisation of industry software to present cost plans and tenders in a clear and concise format.Preparation of tenders on the basis of D&C, GMP, Turnkey and other forms of contractAssist the team in negotiating tenders, conditions, etcCollation of cost data directly from industry suppliers, subcontractors and completed projects.Monitor project costs and provide cost alternatives as required.QualificationsThe incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:Degree in a relevant discipline together with solid experience in cost planning/estimating experienceClear understanding of industry construction techniques and proficient and proven skills in industry softwareAbility to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the external and internal business environmentDemonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skillsDemonstrated effective leadership skills through development of productive relationships with colleagues and team membersDemonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environmentProven high level of professionalism, maturity and candour in daily work ethicAbility to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problemsAdditional InformationAlong with a competitive remuneration package and long-term career development opportunities, our employees enjoy access to the following benefits:Wellbeing Days - three additional leave days per year.Awards and Recognition Program, rewarding employees who bring our values to life.Access to a wellbeing program including annual skin checks and flu vaccinations.Corporate discounts to gym memberships, meal subscriptions and more.Social events and Family Days.At BESIX Watpac, we are committed to fostering a workplace where everyone is valued, supported and respected.
