About Us: As Toowoombas leading gun shop, we are proud to offer a wide range of products including gun safes, new guns, used guns, ammunition, hunting gear, and quality batteries. Conveniently located in Oakey only a short 20 minute drive from Toowoomba. Come and visit the team at The Barn. We have a position available for a casual or full time employee who loves shooting, hunting and the outdoors, and has experience within these fields. The roles are within the sales/customer service area of our business. The role is primarily targeted at serving customers and providing professional advice to them in the retail space. For the full-time position, hours will be 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, including every second or third Saturday 8am to 12pm, depending on the agreement between the employee and management. For the casual position, hours will be mainly on a Saturday working from 8am-12pm. Preference will be given to applicants that can work most Saturdays or every second Saturday. An interest in the firearms and shooting industry is essential and applicants without firearms experience or a current firearms licence will not be considered for this position. Reloading experience is preferred however not essential. Role Responsibilities: Serving customers Providing professional advice to customers in store and over the phone Answering phone calls Creating invoices, sales receipts and processing payments Updating website information - basic level, easy to learn Responding to emails Assisting fellow employees Adhering to Weapons Licensing rules and regulations Adhering to our safety policies and procedures Key Selection Criteria: As the first point of contact for our business, you need to be tidy in appearance & have good people skills. You need to have strong computer skills - this is essential. Extremely good attention to detail - given our industry and the products we well, it is critical to complete all the necessary steps and processes accurately. Strong time management & communication skills - if you are unsure of anything, you must be keen to ask for clarification and assistance from your team members. We are a friendly and supportive team, and wish to maintain that standard. Previous experience in retail would be an advantage.
