Clinical Operations Manager Occupational Health The closing date is 24 March 2026 The role is responsible for a range of professional leadership duties including the operational management and delivery of Occupational Health services at all Trust Sites. The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and review of performance monitoring, clinical governance reporting, project work and the development of business plans/production of reports as required. They will be required to take remedial action where necessary, suggest improvements and propose and implement new ways of working. The post holder will be directly responsible for coordinating others to deliver timely and effective business support across the area of responsibility. The post holder will establish business processes and procedures within their area(s) that satisfy the Trust''s statutory obligations. They will work collaboratively with other operational and professional leads within the Directorate and across the organisation to ensure that the Trust can evidence its compliance with national policies and standards. The post holder will be responsible for management of the directorate budget and staff establishment control, including ensuring appropriate allocation of financial resources and ensuring that expenditure is monitored against budget and maintain financial control. Main duties of the job Enthuse, engage and maintain effective twoway channels of communication within the OH department and to involve individuals and teams within the wider HR service to ensure delivery of relevant quality and performance targets. Deliver a programme of continuous improvement in a challenging and demanding environment. Attend, lead and participate in departmental, divisional and Trust meetings. Manage the capital and revenue budgets for the department to ensure that expenditure and income is within financial plans and budget and to ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions. Interpreting, proposing and drafting changes to policies, guidelines, contracts and service level agreements (SLA''s) which impact the service. Develop and implement effective reporting arrangements within the service to accurately record and monitor performance against local and national targets and to proactively develop solutions to manage any variances. Maintain a good knowledge of emerging policies from government departments and external bodies which may impact the service. Lead and coordinate the production and update of an asset register for the relevant services as and when required. Be an authorised signatory for procurement of equipment and supplies and be involved in procurement of capital equipment, deciding in collaboration with staff appropriate purchases from a range of options. Person Specification Qualifications / Experience Educated to masters or equivalent level of knowledge and experience Experience working in a complex and unpredictable environment Demonstratable previous success in leading and delivering service change and performance initiatives Evidence of preparing and presenting reports Evidence of ability to source, interpret and report highly complex data Evidence of managing operational arrangements including budgets Computer literate in word, database, spreadsheet, presentations and file management at a high level Proven evidence of managing a significant sized team and utilising resources effectively and efficiently Experience of managing a range of employment issues including sickness absence, disciplinary, performance and grievance issues Knowledge of national development strategies and delivery of NHS services NMC registered Advanced use of patient administration systems Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role) Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
