Outwood Park Medical Centre is a large GP Practice with a friendly supportive team of clinicians and administrative staff.We are seeking a part-timeadministrator/coder/summariserto join our team working30hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday.Applicants must be able todemonstrateexcellent I.T skills andstrong communicationskills with an ability to pay attention to detail.Previouscustomer serviceand administrationskills are desirable.Applicants must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. They will need to be able to adapt to the day to demands of working in a busy general practice setting.Main duties of the jobTo carry outadministrative tasks in relationpatients which will includeproviding tests results for patientstosupportthe day-to-day running of the practice.Receive,assistand direct patients in accessing theappropriate serviceor healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient way.Provide generalassistanceto the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.To work with the coding team processing paper and electronic post and coding this to the patient record.Summarising of patient records.About usOutwood Park Medical Centre is a busy,forward-thinkingpractice and is part of the Brigantes Primary Care Network.We are a friendly supportive team made up of five GP Partners,fiveSalaried GP''s, three Advanced Nurse practitioners, three Practice Nurses, one Healthcare assistant in addition to Secretarial, Admin and reception teams.We also have a range ofadditionalroles supporting the Practice including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, First Contact Practitioners, CareNavigatorsand a ParamedicWe are a training practice hosting trainee doctors and nurses and have an excellent reputation for providinga high levelof patient care with good access to appointments.Job responsibilitiesAdministrationTo have a thorough knowledge of all Practice proceduresTo workin accordance withwritten protocolsPulling/filing notes and update as necessaryFilingand codingpost in medical recordsPhotocopy as requestedProvide test results to patients.Book appointmentswhererequired.ComputerRegistrations of newpatientscomputer data entry and medical recordsProcess patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area)Have working knowledge of telephone system.Other tasksappropriate tothe roleConfidentiality:In the course ofseeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters.
