Job Description

Cargo Examination Officer responsible for screening export air cargo in line with aviation security legislation, ACE regulations & Trident procedures. As we expand our national aircargo screening operations, we are seeking motivated Cargo Examination Officers to join our growing team and support a highprofile transition into a centralised cargo screening model. About the Role As a Cargo Examination Officer (ACEO), you will play a vital frontline role ensuring all export air cargo is screened in accordance with the Aviation Transport Security Act, the Air Cargo Examination (ACE) regulatory framework, and Trident operational procedures. You will be responsible for conducting cargo screening using a range of technologies and approved methods to identify prohibited items, threats, and anomalies before cargo enters the airside environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, situational awareness, and the ability to work effectively within a centralised screening environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct physical inspections Apply a full suite of Approved Air Cargo Examination (ACE) methods Report, elevate, and document security incidents in line with regulatory requirements Apply Trident SOPs, RACA security requirements Maintain compliance with all training, accreditation, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) obligations Communicate with the central screening hub (Sydney) when articles require further examination Operate screening equipment safely and maintain screening documentation, registers, and logs Uphold Tridents security culture, values, and strict integrity standards Perform duties across rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays where required Qualifications & Requirements Mandatory Eligibility to obtain and maintain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) Ability to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol screening Ability to obtain a CertificateII in Transport Security Protection (TSP) or already hold one Ability to pass a criminal history check Colourvision suitability for Xray screening tasks Full work rights in Australia Ability to work shift rosters including night shifts and weekends Good communication both verbal and written Highly Desirable Minimum1year of experience in aviation security, cargo screening, or freight handling Previous qualification(s) in: Air Cargo Xray Operations ETD (internal/external) Physical Examination EMD HighRisk Cargo Dangerous Goods Recognition What We Offer Full training pathway Sponsorship in the completion of CertificateII In Transport Security Protection Stable, longterm employment within a national aviation security provider Full professional uniform provided Appropriate PPE provided Opportunities for career progression into supervisory and specialist roles Supportive team culture with professional development across the Aviation & Maritime Division Competitive remuneration including allowances under the Modern Award Locations Adelaide Brisbane Homebush Melbourne Perth Sydney How to Apply Your current resume Any relevant aviation security qualifications Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for screening, interviews, and preemployment security checks.
