We''re hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join our Data Operations team. This is a handson technical role combining data analysis, process automation, and ESG data management. You will be the most senior technical contributor in the team, working closely with the Head of Data Operations to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of our data processing pipeline. Trellis Technologies is an Australian ESG management software company that helps organisations track, measure, and report on their environmental, social, and governance performance. Our platform processes energy, waste, water, and emissions data at enabling organisations to meet their sustainability reporting obligations with confidence. The role involves deep analytical work across complex datasets, building automation to reduce manual processing, and collaborating with Engineering and Customer Success teams to resolve systemic data issues. You will also provide operational continuity for the Data Operations function when the Head of Data Operations is unavailable. As the senior technical contributor in Data Operations, you will: Design and maintain advanced SQL queries for data quality analysis, duplicate detection, and processing performance reporting (MariaDB/MySQL) Analyse processing metrics to identify bottlenecks, forecast capacity, and drive operational improvements Collaborate with Engineering on data extraction validation, system integrations, and tool enhancements Work with Customer Success to resolve complex data issues and improve client data quality outcomes Support the preparation of executivelevel reports and dashboards on operational performance Develop and maintain documentation for data processing standards and workflows Provide guidance to junior team members on technical approaches and data handling practices Ensure operational continuity of the Data Operations function during periods of management absence Required: 5+ years in data analysis, data operations, or a related role Advanced SQL (complex joins, window functions, CTEs, performance tuning) Ability to produce clear reports and translate technical findings for nontechnical audiences Comfortable working autonomously in a hybrid environment Australian work rights are required for this position ESG, sustainability, or environmental science background Experience with utility billing data, energy data, or emissions reporting Familiarity with Australian reporting frameworks (NGER, NABERS, Climate Active) Experience with AWS services (S3, Bedrock) This role is available in Adelaide or Sydney.
