About the roleWe are looking for a Field Technician who will provide field support to the Mungari Resource Development, Open Pit and Underground Geology teams, located 25km from central Kalgoorlie. This varied role is a fantastic opportunity for someone entering the mining industry who can quickly learn the technical skills but already has the personal abilities to deliver the below responsibilities.Collect geological samples from suitable sites, in either the field or open pit environment as directed, mark samples, note locations and dispatch to laboratory as appropriatePrepare site appropriately, including field set up, gridding, clearing, supervision of sump digging, track clearing, drill pad setup and building of causewaysCollect drilling samples as directed, split as required and dispatch to laboratoryComplete marking up of core, geotechnical logging, and specific gravity determinationsMonitor field equipment and vehicles and arrange servicing or repairs as requiredComplete site rehabilitation duties, including supervision of contractors, filling in sumps, ripping compacted areas, and collar cutting and pluggingEncourage, participate and assist to implement continuous improvement in all work-related activities.This position will only be offered to those who reside locally to Kalgoorlie or are willing to permanently relocate. The roster is a continuous 9:5 (10-hour dayshift only) roster.We are unable to consider candidates on student or working holiday visas at this timeAbout youWere looking for an entry-level applicant who brings experience from heavy industry.
