Multicultural Childrens Services Case ManagerMulticultural Services Centre of Western Australia Mirrabooka WAMulticultural Services Centre (MSC) is an established provider of diverse community services to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) Western Australians. The Centre has been providing a range of programs and services to migrants and refugees for about four decades. Our Vision is an inclusive society that values diversity.About the OpportunityThe Multicultural Childrens Services Case Worker will be responsible for providing support to children aged 4-11 and Youth aged 12-14 from CaLD families that are homeless or at the risk of homelessness and are clients of our Housing Program. This will be achieved by case managing the children and youth, by developing and implementing fun educational programs and activities for them and providing appropriate housing supports to their parents.This is a fixed-term position with possibility of extension.BenefitsCompetitive annual salary plus superNot-for-profit salary packaging options up to $15,900 for general living expenses and $2,650 for entertainment benefitsFree Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Diverse and supportive team environment (Including MSC Social Club)Opportunities for growth and developmentBeny App access providing thousands of exclusive perks and insights to enhance physical, mental, social, and financial wellbeingDutiesDevelop, implement and maintain a range of programs and activities (educational, sporting, cultural, arts etc)Complete individual assessments of each child or young person to determine how best to support themComplete risk assessments of activities and ensure that identified risk management or mitigation strategies are in place when implementing programs and activitiesCase manage students as needed to ensure supports requiredEnsure services are delivered and maintained in accordance with MSCs contractual obligationsProvide information about existing specialist services available within community including referring the children and youths to appropriate services.Provide activities for children and youth during school holidays and weekendsEnsure parental consent is obtained for children and youth to participate in program and activities.Consult with parents and carers to ensure they fully understand the activities and programs the children and youth are participating in.Liaise with schools teachers and other relevant staff to address changes in behaviours of children that may be impacting their academic performance and relationships with peers triggered by homelessness or the risk of becoming homeless.Establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with other service providers to ensure efficient and relevant referrals between organisations and minimum duplication of services or competition for clients.Prepare reports in accordance with our funding obligations and maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to clients.Selection CriteriaEssential CriteriaTertiary qualifications in education, social welfare or other relevant disciplines are desirable or considerable experience in developing and implementing engaging educational programs for children and youth from CaLD backgrounds and their families.High degree of cultural competence and understanding of the refugee experience.Proven track record in developing and organising successful programs and eventsExcellent networking and liaison skills and the ability to work cooperatively with other programs within MSC and external organisations.Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsGood knowledge of the multicultural and community service sectorsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentCommitment to providing quality customer servicesFluency in a language other than EnglishExperience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgroundsPre-requisitesValid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicleNational Police CertificateRight to work in AustraliaWorking with Children''s CheckMSC reserves the right to move forward with suitable candidates prior to the application closing date. #J-18808-Ljbffr
