We support:Older adults (65+)Palliative care patientsPeople of any age with a disability or disabling illnessOur mission is simple: keep people and their beloved pets together. Its about human well-being just as much as animal welfare..What Volunteers DoOur amazing volunteers help with:Dog walking for clients who cant walk their dogs anymoreFeeding pets especially when clients are in hospital for a short stayTransporting pets to the vet or boarding facilitiesGeneral care grooming, bathing, flea control, and medication (only if you''re comfortable)Volunteer ActivitiesDOG WALKING - Some clients are physically unable to walk their dogs, which can cause distress for both pet and owner. Volunteers walk dogs when they can; no fixed schedule required. Times are arranged to suit both volunteer and client. A great way to get outdoors and make a difference.ANIMAL FEEDING - When clients go into hospital for 12 days. Volunteers nearby may be asked to feed pets at home (often in backyards/verandahs). This gives clients peace of mind while they focus on their health.TRANSPORT - Many clients cant drive or walk long distances anymore. Volunteers help transport pets to/from their regular vet. We aim to keep pets with their trusted local vet whenever possible.MEDICATION & GENERAL CARE - Some volunteers assist with grooming & bathing, flea control, administering medication.
