The enterprise manages 9,000 breeding ewes and operates a feedlot capable of handling 40,000 lambs, requiring efficient transport and logistics to support daily operations.About the RoleOur client, D & D Warburton, is seeking a reliable Truck Driver to support transport operations across the farming enterprise. The role involves full-time truck driving for approximately nine months of the year, with the remaining three months assisting with general farm work during quieter transport periods.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy trucks to transport livestock, grain, feed, and other farm supplies safely across farm sites and external locationsManoeuvre vehicles into position for loading and unloading, ensuring safe handling of livestock, grain, and farm materialsLoad and unload trucks using lifting or tipping devices while following proper safety proceduresConduct pre-start inspections and regular quality checks to ensure vehicles are in safe working conditionPerform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues to minimise downtimeEstimate load weights and ensure proper weight distribution to comply with road transport regulations and load limitsEnsure all goods, feed, grain, and equipment are securely stowed and covered to prevent damage or loss during transportVerify transport documentation, inspect the condition of goods or livestock, and obtain delivery confirmations when requiredMaintain accurate transport logs and records in accordance with road safety and regulatory requirementsFollow workplace health, safety, and animal welfare standards when transporting livestockAssist with general farm duties during off-peak transport periods, including supporting harvest activities, feedlot operations, and other farm logisticsRequirementsValid Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (HC or MC preferred)Previous experience in agricultural or rural transport operationsKnowledge of livestock transport procedures is an advantageStrong awareness of road safety and fatigue managementAbility to assist with general farm work when requiredGood communication and teamwork skillsBe careful - Dont provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
