Overview A very exciting and rare career opportunity for a highly motivated professional to help drive the Strength and Conditioning program across the Perth Glory Football Club Senior Academy. Head of Strength & Conditioning Responsibilities The delivery of individual and group strength and conditioning services to all players in Senior Academy programs. Work with the football coaches to develop practices that incorporate physical, tactical, technical, and mental components so that time spent training maximises parameters as efficiently and effectively as possible. Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of strength and conditioning programs in collaboration with the Academy Coaching and Medical staff to demonstrate measurable improvements in physical performance. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of work conducted with players and coaches, including monitoring of heart rate, training loads and session intensities, hydration status, session content, strength and conditioning, and rehab/prehab sessions. Collaborate with other support staff to provide an informed and integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to performance development. Plan and implement strength training and conditioning programs for off-season, pre-season and in-season periods. Collaborate with medical staff in the rehabilitation of injured players and design rehabilitation programmes tailored to individual players and injuries. Create evaluation programmes based on player strengths and weaknesses and keep detailed records to track progress, updating these records regularly. Be available to work all match days unless approval for time off is given by the Head Coach. Plan and deliver daily warmups aligned to session objectives. Direct, manage and drive the implementation of highly effective, collaborative, and individualised strength and power programs. Support the performance department by taking responsibility for the physical development of all players, including injury prevention and other key physical performance indicators as directed by coaches and the performance director. Coach all gym sessions with a high level of coaching and face-to-face delivery at all times. Plan and deliver game day warmups and postgame top-up conditioning. Prepare players for game demands pre-game and during the game (substitutions). Ensure GPS devices are charged, on and worn by players during all matches and training sessions. Analyse, interpret and report data as directed by coaches and the head of performance. Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Exercise Science or equivalent. Experience: 3+ years experience working for a professional sports club as a strength and conditioning coach. Licenses/Certificates: Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) qualification[CC2]; AFC/FA Football Conditioning Licence; First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate; Certificate of Currency evidencing Professional Indemnity Insurance; Masters of Strength and Conditioning or equivalent; Experience working in football (soccer). Skills: Ability to communicate to various stakeholders across multiple departments; Ability to work cohesively in a team environment; Skilled in using, analysing and interpreting data from various technologies (Force Plates, Gym Aware, etc.); Organisation, communication and time management skills; Experienced in creating and implementing various training programmes and fitness regimes.
