About the job Chef Indian Cuisine - Full TimePosition: ChefSingh Curry House is a well-established and highly rated Indian restaurant located in Kallangur QLD. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.As a Chef at Singh Curry House, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. You will work closely with our kitchen team to develop new menu items and ensure consistency in taste and presentation.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to our recipes and standardsEnsure all food is cooked and presented to the highest quality and in a timely mannerMonitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering and restocking supplies as neededTrain and supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring a smooth and efficient operationCollaborate with management to develop new menu items and specialsEnsure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all timesMaintain a clean and organized kitchen, following proper cleaning and sanitization proceduresManaging stock inventory and ordering raw materials of high quality. Ensuring that the food is stored in temperature-controlled facilitiesAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulationsCosting menu items including costing of food and labour costsWork to resolve kitchen issues, listen to feedback and seek solutions in conjunction with fellow staffRequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef in a high-volume restaurantCertificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management is requiredStrong knowledge and experience in Indian cuisineAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent time management and organizational skillsStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentAvailability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededWe offer a competitive salary, opportunities for growth and development, and a positive and supportive work environment.
