Our mission is to provide a Christ-centred education of excellence that helps students develop their God-given potential.We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Counsellor to join our College. This role supports the emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing of students from Kindergarten to Year 12, and contributes to whole-of-school wellbeing initiatives.You will work collaboratively with teaching and leadership staff, provide individual and group-based counselling support, and contribute to a safe, caring, and inclusive college environment. The successful applicant will be part of the Principal''s Team and play a key role in student care, case management, and early intervention programs.Selection CriteriaThe successful applicant will demonstrate:A personal Christian faith and active involvement in a local church, with a commitment to the College''s Christian ethos and Statement of Faith.Tertiary qualifications in counselling or a related discipline (e.g. psychology, social work), and eligibility for membership with a recognised professional body such as ACA or AASW.Experience providing counselling support to children and adolescents, including individual and group interventions, within a school or comparable setting.Knowledge of current best practice in student wellbeing and mental health, including child protection, mandatory reporting, and trauma-informed care.Experience in case management and interagency collaboration, including liaison with families, educators, and external professionals.Demonstrated ability in behavioural competencies including: Working with People builds rapport, shows empathy, and maintains professional boundaries Adhering to Principles and Values acts with integrity, upholds ethics and confidentiality Planning and Organising manages time and resources effectively Adapting and Responding to Change adjusts to different people, challenges, and environmentsCurrent Working with Children Check and an understanding of child safety obligations in educational settings.How to ApplyA recruitment pack, including the full position description, is available on our website at: charlton.nsw.edu.au/employmentAll applicants must submit:A completed application form (available on our website)A cover letter briefly addressing the selection criteriaA current resumePlease email applications to: [email protected] about the role can be directed to Mr Benton Craig on 02 49 599 111.Applications close Sunday 27 July #J-18808-Ljbffr
