Personal Care Assistants - EOI Casual PositionAbout the Role: The Hospice is always looking for a suitably qualified and experienced personal care assistant for a casual position. As a personal carer for the Toowoomba Hospice your duties would include the provision of high quality care to our clients and their families. Additional duties may include housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care to clients and assisting the registered nurse on duty. As the Hospice is a 24hr facility we require personal carers who are able to work a variety of shifts, morning, afternoon and night duty, throughout the week.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide care and services which align with the Toowoomba Hospice principles, values and Mission.Be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team whilst also being confident with working autonomously as required reporting to the RN or supervisor on duty throughout the shift.Be able to assist palliative clients at the end of their lives with personal care services and care planning in conjunction with the Registered Nurse, as well as domestic duties and food preparation as required.Work within your scope of practice and expertise being aware of WH&S commitments and concerns as well as participating in continuous quality improvement activities.Remain up to date with mandatory education and training.Key RequirementsMinimum Certificate III in Aged and Disability SupportAt least 5 years experience in a similar fieldCurrent Police CheckThe ability to work as part of a small team and take direction as requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPrioritization and time management skillsAbility to provide person-centred and consumer-directed careDemonstrated experience with personal care, medications, hoists & manual handlingAbout the Toowoomba HospiceThe Toowoomba Hospice is a not for profit, accredited, private, 6 bed healthcare facility, based in Toowoomba.
