Overview Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description: Mobile plant operator including Tractor Operator and other farm harvesting equipment. Location: Biofarms Tasmania Agricultural Sites (NW Coast Tasmania Region). Employment Type: Fulltime/Permanent (under the Horticulture Award 2020). Annual starting wage $70,000 & overtime. Working Patterns: Monday to Friday (subject to operational needs). Some weekends and afterhours work may be required. Responsibilities Operate tractors and farm machinery to perform tasks such as ground preparation, planting, inter-rowing, harvesting, spraying, and facilitating irrigation activities. Specialized equipment may include a Culti''track tool carrier. Perform daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance (e.g., oil checks, tyre pressure) on machinery as per Safe Work Procedures. Identify and report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or hazards. Perform routine servicing, minor repairs and maintenance checks on machinery and equipment. Follow site plans and supervisor instructions to meet required timelines. Transport machinery and equipment between farm locations, adhering to all road safety regulations. Assist with other general farm duties as required. Adhere to organic farming standards and guidelines. Other farm tasks as directed. What we''re looking for Proven experience operating tractors and other farm machinery. Valid drivers license and ability to drive on public roads. Knowledge of road safety and regulations applicable to farm equipment. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Commitment to health and safety regulations in the workplace.
