Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef Wined Bar to lead our kitchen operations and drive culinary excellence within this flagship venue.Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, performance and development of the Wined Bar kitchen team. The successful candidate will balance creative menu development with strong operational discipline, ensuring quality, consistency, cost control and compliance at all times.This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a motivated professional who thrives in a high-volume, quality-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the daily operations of the Wined Bar kitchen.Develop and deliver seasonal menus that complement the National Wine Centres wine-focused offering.Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.Manage food costs, labour efficiency and inventory to achieve budget targets.Lead and develop the kitchen team to drive performance and a positive team culture.Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.Work collaboratively with front-of-house and cellar door teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.Contribute to menu development and culinary initiatives in partnership with the Executive Chef.Demonstrated experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality restaurant or premium caf environment.Strong commercial acumen with experience managing food costs, labour and inventory.A collaborative and supportive leadership style with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop kitchen teams.Excellent communication and organisational skills.The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.Flexibility to work across a seven-day rotating roster.An appreciation for wine and its integration with food offerings will be highly regarded.The Wined Bar kitchen is open:Monday Thursday: 11.00am 4.00pmFriday: 11.00am 7.00pmWhy Join the National Wine Centre?The National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC) is one of Adelaides premier hospitality and tourism venues, located in the vibrant East End CBD, adjacent to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and the emerging Lot Fourteen precinct.As the national showcase for Australias wine industry, the NWC delivers exceptional wine, food and event experiences to local, interstate and international visitors.
