The Deal was instigated in 2019, through community action to address the long-standing inequities and related economic and social issues in Barkly communities.The Deal is a ten-year commitment to 28 initiatives to be delivered in the Barkly. It is also a commitment from the government partners to a new way of working with the community based on a shared vision and agreed priorities and principles.About the OpportunityThe Community Engagement Officer plays a central role in leading engagement, communication, consultation, and evaluation activities across the Barkly region. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with communities throughout the region, including regular travel to remote communities and homelands.
