Regional Project Officer - Caring For CountryNorthern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a capable and motivated Regional Project Officer to support the delivery of land and sea management programs across the Darwin Daly region. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with Aboriginal ranger teams, Traditional Owners, and CFC program staff to help deliver high-impact oncountry outcomes.About the Role:The Regional Project Officer plays a key role in supporting the operational delivery of regionally based Caring for Country (CFC) ranger programs. Working closely with the Darwin Daly Regional Program Coordinator, this position provides daytoday planning support, logistics assistance, and technical guidance across a broad range of land and sea management activities.You will assist in coordinating onground ranger projects, support the use of CFC Adaptive Management tools (including AirTable and SMART), and contribute to Healthy Country Planning priorities. A significant part of the role involves building ranger capability through training and mentoring in mapping, spatial data, and field data collection, and supporting the delivery of fire, weed, feral animal and coastal management programs.The position is also responsible for asset management, procurement, and budget inputs, as well as accurate program reporting for funding bodies and Traditional Owners. Regular travel throughout the region is required, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, culturally diverse team.What you will Bring:You will bring strong experience in natural resource management and a commitment to supporting Aboriginal rangers to care for their Country. You will be confident working across cultures, providing technical guidance, and solving daytoday operational challenges.You will also have the following:Completion of qualifications in natural resource management or similar related field, and/or least three years relevant land management or supporting role experience.Experience managing programs assets including infrastructure, accommodation, plant and equipment.Sound cross-cultural communication skills and understanding of the relevant regional cultural norms and customs.Sound ICT literacy and the ability to produce timely, clear, concise and informative reports for a range of purposes to suit the intended audience.Demonstrated project and time management skills with a focus on administration, technical input, logistics, annual work and budget planning and reporting.Basic understanding of mapping and GIS systems and familiar with using QGIS, Avenza maps and spatial data.Current C Class Drivers Licence and the ability and willingness to undertake remote travel in a manual 4WD vehicles, light aircraft, ATV''s and small vessels.Click here for a full copy of the Position Description.What''s in it for you?This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in supporting Aboriginal ranger groups to care for Country across the Top End.
