About the roleThe successful applicant will promote family-inclusive practices and deliver relationship orientated interventions to young people and their families. Key responsibilities include:Creating opportunities for families, carers and friends to positively contribute to a young persons mental health and overall wellbeing journey through group interventions and programsProvide psycho-social assessments and evidence-based brief interventions to young people and their families in the centre, via telehealth, and at other approved and appropriate outreach sitesPromote consistent and coordinated service delivery response for young people and their families through liaison with relevant referrers and other servicesCollaboratively and holistically support families with case management activities and psychoeducation to enhance a familys capacity to respond to the young persons mental health goals.Proactively work to reduce barriers to access services, enhancing family/friend perception and participation across all aspects of service delivery and in the centres community.Conduct initial intake of referrals to determine appropriateness for service, including responding to enquiries, assessment and monitoring of risk whilst acting as the interim holder of the young persons case until appropriately allocatedParticipate in regular clinical case review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetingsPromote headspace Manjimup services where appropriate, build and maintain collaborative working relationships with suitable local and other external stakeholdersAbout the practiceWe are a for-purpose organisation that creates brighter futures for young people in WA by offering a range of no-cost mental health services. Established in 1994, we deliver innovative and accessible mental health services and programs across WA to help young people aged 12 to 25. A key component of this is our role as the lead agency for five headspace Centres, including headspace Manjimup Centre.Experience and qualifications requiredRelevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, OT, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling) and current full registration/membership with a professional body.Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a clinical setting, with experience working in a tier 2/3 youth mental health environment.Demonstrated experience in family therapy and utilising group and relationship-oriented interventions.Experience in responding to family and domestic violence, child safety and trauma informed practice.Demonstrated experience in working with families impacted by problematic AOD use.Demonstrated experience and ability to undertake screening and assessment to determine a young persons needs, level of risk and when to refer to other services as appropriate.Ability to work independently and effectively within a multi-disciplinary teamExperience and competence working with vulnerable groups, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or CaLD.C Class drivers licence and willingness to travel within the Warren-Blackwood regionWhats on offer for the successful candidateWe are a recognised Inclusive Employer (Diversity Council Australia 2025-2026)Salary packaging commensurate to an NFP - up to $18,550 pa.Generous paid parental leave (up to 13 weeks) and long service leave (up to 12 weeks).Additional annual leave, and other leave offerings (including gifted Christmas leave).Access to ongoing professional development opportunities.An opportunity to make your mark and impact on a new youth mental health service! #J-18808-Ljbffr
