With a commitment to delivering high-quality care in one of the most complex and restrictive environments, the Service encompasses primary health care; mental health care; alcohol and other drug services; psychological, prevention and wellbeing services; pharmacy services; allied health care and tertiary care referral services.Banksia Hill Youth Detention Centre will provide an integrated model of management for young people who are at risk of self-harm and suicide and young people experiencing acute mental health issues. The Crisis Care Unit (CCU) will be collaboratively led by a Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) and reflect evidence based best practice for the management of these young people that is culturally sensitive and reflective of that young persons unique needs and experiences.The Aboriginal Mental Health Worker (AMHW) works as a member of the multidisciplinary team across all areas of the Banksia Hill Youth Detention Centre to enhance the accessibility of mental health services to young Aboriginal people and participates in the development, planning, delivery and evaluation of care and management planning and delivery with special reference to the needs of Aboriginal youth.
