Every day, we work closely with families, carers, and communities to help shape brighter futures.From supporting children and families to empowering people with disability, mental health, or those seeking refuge were here to break down barriers and build better lives.Join us to discover a purpose you can wrap your heart around!Role: Senior Residential Care Worker Live InLocation: Perth, WARemuneration: $183,600 per year + Super + 5 weeks annual leaveIn this role, youll provide care and support for up to 4 children aged 012 years in our temporary residential care home, creating a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive.Working a roster of 7 days on and 7 days off, youll support their wellbeing, development, and daily needs through supervision, age-appropriate activities, and positive engagement designed specifically for children in this age group.You will be supported by a House Manager and a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring the home runs smoothly and meets the needs of the children. Using your trauma-informed, child-focused approach, youll provide practical care and emotional support, helping children feel safe, respected, and supported.ResponsibilitiesProvide 24/7 therapeutic care and supervision for up to four children aged 012 years, creating a safe, nurturing and culturally responsive home that supports their growth, development and independence.Act as a positive role model and engage children in age-appropriate activities such as play, creative learning and structured routines that promote self worth, social skills and emotional growth.Support family and social connections by encouraging positive relationships with parents, siblings, peers and other important people and facilitating visits where appropriate.Deliver daily living and household support including cleaning, transport, meal preparation and routines tailored to the needs of younger children.Respond to trauma related needs and behaviours with empathy using trauma informed approaches suited to children aged 012 years.Follow care plans to maintain high standards of care, record information accurately, collaborate with the team and participate in ongoing training.Skills & ExperienceRelevant Diploma or Degree level qualification in Social and Community Services or significant relevant experienceDemonstrated experience providing residential and therapeutic care for children and young people with complex behaviours and trauma, ideally as a live-in carerProven ability to build professional nurturing relationships with children and young people between the ages of 0-12 years.Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, understanding their cultural needs and traditionsDemonstrated knowledge of complex trauma and its effects on children and young people and how it impacts their behaviourStrong peer support, teamwork, problem solving and conflict management skillsCurrent Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificatesA current and unrestricted drivers licenceExperience in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) will be highly regarded.Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, WA Working with Children Check and WA DCP395 Check.How to ApplyApplications Open: Thursday 5th March 2026Applications Close: Sunday 5th April 2026Include your resume and covering letter in one document, click Apply and follow the prompts.
