At the Perkins, we support WAs best medical researchers to beat the worlds toughest diseases to give you and your loved ones the best chance to live longer, healthier and better lives.About this roleReporting to the Research Operations Manager, the Media Production Manager is responsible for leading the Media Production Facility and ensuring the reliable supply of high-quality media and biological solutions to support research activities.You will oversee laboratory operations, maintain compliance with GLP and WHS requirements, provide technical expertise to researchers, and drive continuous improvement across media production systems and processes.Key responsibilitiesManage and coordinate the Media Production Facility to meet research service requirementsLead and develop the Laboratory Assistant, providing coaching, feedback and performance supportDevelop, maintain and govern SOPs, media recipes and laboratory protocolsPlan and schedule production activities to ensure continuity of supplyOversee procurement, testing and vendor management of Foetal Bovine SerumProvide technical advice and troubleshooting support to researchersEnsure compliance with GLP, WHS, biohazard and quality assurance requirementsMonitor laboratory performance, inventory and budgets, identifying improvement opportunitiesTo be successful in this role, you willEnjoy balancing hands-on laboratory work with operational leadershipTakes pride in precision, quality and reproducibilityBe proactive in improving systems and laboratory efficiencyThrives in a collaborative medical research environmentTo be successful in this role, youll haveTertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experienceStrong understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)Demonstrated laboratory experience with high attention to detailProven ability to troubleshoot experimental and equipment issuesExcellent planning and organisational skillsHigh-level written and verbal communication skillsSound knowledge of WHS, laboratory safety and risk managementExperience managing laboratory supplies, budgets and resourcesFamiliarity with Biosafety Level 2 requirementsSatisfactory National Police CertificateIf this sounds like the right fit, we can offer youFlexible working optionsA supportive and passionate teamthe opportunity to make a positive impact in a community-focused organisation with global reachThe ability to salary package up to $18,550 annually, meaning you can legitimately pay less tax and increase your tax-home payGenerous leave benefits, including:o 3 days paid extra leave at the end of the yearo Up to 16 weeks paid parental leaveo 2 days of paid cultural and community engagement leaveAre you ready to make a difference?To apply, please submit your cover letter addressing the selection criteria and your resume.
