The opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate PaediatricSpeech Pathologistto join our energetic Child & Family Team at Access Health & Community. We are seeking adynamic Grade 2 or experienced Grade 1 Speech Pathologist. This role is ideal for an applicant who demonstrates a passion for working within a multi and transdisciplinary supportive team environment in the wonderful world of paediatrics where your ideas are genuinely valued. Youll have the opportunity to help shape and evolve our service delivery. Youll be part of a close-knit and supportive team including over 40 paediatric allied health professionals with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, best-practice services to pre-school and school-aged children and their families within the communities in the Eastern and Outer Eastern suburbs. This is a Fulltime position however we are open to consider candidates that would be looking for a part time 0.8EFT role. The role is based in Lilydale with the ability to travel to the Belgrave site. The role The position encompasses promotion of health and wellbeing across the spectrum from prevention and early intervention through to a range of goal-directed treatments and care planning. The role is expected to foster an environment that reflects family-centred care. A Senior Speech Pathologist will provide one-to-one supervision and multiple peer supervision opportunities exist to support a rich learning environment. Your caseload will include children between 0 and 6 years with developmental delays and disability, typically with mild and moderate support needs. You will support children to progress goals around speech clarity, language development, social communication, pre-literacy, participation in daily routines and inclusion in education settings. Services are delivered in a variety of ways, including: Clinic-based individual and joint sessions with another allied health disciplines Groups including social, communication and school readiness skills-based programs Telehealth Homes, kindergartens, childcare centres and other community spaces What you will be doing The successful applicant will work with children who are funded under a mix of NDIS, public, state and federal health funding. This variety ensures a rich clinical experience and ongoing skill development across multiple service models. Operate a paediatric speech pathology service within multi and transdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of centre based and outreach services to all eligible clients Assess, plan and provide interventions for a caseload of pre-school and school aged children Initiate, plan, implement and evaluate group therapy programs for children Participate in client care meetings In collaboration with other AccessHC Child & Family service staff and management, review the content of individual & group programs and make service changes based on the outcome of these review What we offer The salary band range $86,647.60- $109,470.47 Community service salary packaging benefits (increase take-home pay) 50% of the patients are under block funding Access to fleet cars for home visit appointments Work laptop provided Monthly clinical supervision with a Grade 3 Speech Pathologist Strong clinical support and mentoring Opportunities to contribute ideas and influence service development A genuinely supportive, innovative and friendly team culture Attributes we value An ability to work sensitively with people of diverse cultures, abilities, ages, sexualities and gender identities Commitment to continuous quality improvement and health promotion principles Strong communication and interpersonal skills Effective time management and prioritisation skills Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Access Health and Community values Access Health and Community Culture and Benefits What you will bring Tertiary qualification in speech pathology and a passion for working with children Demonstrated knowledge of typical and atypical childhood development in order to understand a childs developmental delay or disability Demonstrated skills in speech pathology assessment and intervention, based on current evidenced-based practice to ensure positive outcomes for the child and family Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Experience in planning and delivering group therapy programs A passion to deliver an exceptional customer service Compliance Requirements National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check Evidence of the right to work in Australia and a valid Drivers Licence First Aid and CPR Read more about our culture and benefits: Join us and experience a career where you truly make a difference.
