OverviewCatholic Homes has an opportunity for a passionate and motivated Chef to join our team at our facility in Belmont, Sister Mary Glowrey, on an ongoing casual basis.Sister Mary Glowrey features modern facilities designed to meet the needs of both residents and staff, making the most of its large, lightfilled spaces. We provide a high standard of comfort and care within a relaxed, familyfriendly, and homelike environment.The facility is conveniently located near the Swan River, just off Great Eastern Highway near Belmont Primary School. It is also close to public transport, Belmont Forum, Victoria Park, and the Perth city centre.The successful applicant will receive ongoing support and guidance from the Manager of Hotel Services and the Facility Manager.QualificationsTo be successful in this role you will have:Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalentPrevious experience working as a Chef/Cook in Aged CareStrong leadership skills and the ability to mentor the Food Services teamKnowledge of texture modified foods, allergies and able to cater for specific diets (highly desirable)Understanding of food safety skills and knowledge of food safety regulationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsEnjoys teamwork / team building and has the ability to work with people from diverse backgroundsAbility to problem solve and adapt to the Care Partners needsFood ordering and service delivery within a budgetEmpathy and understanding of the elderly and those with dementiaBenefits / OpportunitiesEmployee Assistance Program (free confidential counselling service)Free onsite parkingClose to public transportPaid blood donor leaveComprehensive induction program and ongoing professional development.About Catholic HomesCaring for Western Australians for 60 years, Catholic Homes is a leading not-for-profit comprehensive aged care provider.
