OverviewListed By: Department of Justice Perth WAThis is a Pool process with Permanent, full time / part time and Fixed term, full time / part time opportunities.About the roleThe Senior Programs Officer (SPO) position within Offender Programs work directly with offenders, delivering therapeutic and psycho-educational programs to promote pro-social, law-abiding behaviours. SPOs deliver programs to offenders across various sites, both in prison-based and community settings, which may include after hours work.The panel is looking for self-motivated, self-aware, resilient employees, with relevant academic backgrounds that support their understanding and ability to learn about offending behaviour and how to facilitate effective group interventions.The position is a rewarding and challenging role, requiring your ability to maintain close professional relationships with colleagues to plan and deliver safe, effective behavioural programs to offenders.QualificationsPermanent positions To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.An accredited qualification in Psychology and eligibility for general registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); ORAn approved Social Work qualification and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); ORAn approved 4-year behavioural science degree.About JusticeWhen you join the Department of Justice, you become part of a people-focused organisation, working hard to make our community a fairer and safer place to live.
