Whilst Paspaley core business is in pearling, including pearl production, wholesale, and retail, it also has extensive involvement and interests in engineering, aviation, agriculture, hospitality and resort accommodation businesses and commercial property.A unique opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate facilities/maintenance manager at the Pinctada Hotel, just minutes from the turquoise waters and white sands of famous Cable Beach. The hotel''s in one of WAs most iconic tourist towns is surrounded by the tranquillity of tropical gardens and captures the essence of Broome with its stunning design and luxury facilities.Facilities/Maintenance Manager:Responsible for planning, directing, controlling, co-ordinating and participating in all hotel maintenance, cost reduction, method and technique improvement programs, and oversee all the operations of the Hotels engineering, repairs and maintenance functions.Implementation of Hotel policies, standards for fire, safety and behavioural programs. Complies to plant schedules, setting up preventative maintenance routines and supervising their implementation, directly supervises staff maintaining hotel services.Key RolesDirects and controls the maintenance and protection of physical structure and contents, the efficient operation of hotel plant, and conservation of equipment.Keeps the mechanical equipment of the Hotel in good working condition, and with due regard to the safety of all persons concerned in its operation.Supervises repairs and services furnished by outside contractors as applicable to the Hotel.Prepares schedules for preventative maintenance.Instructs workers on all shifts regarding special duties in relation to tasks required and new projects.Obtains cost estimate for projects as requested by Management.Prepares annual estimated operating budgets.Minimise the costs of utility accounts through the implementation of effective energy conservation programs.Controls the Engineering store with regard to the following:Ensure purchasing is done with regard to quality as well as price.Conduct a regular inventory of all tools and equipment and spares held in the store.Ensure that an adequate replacement ordering system is implementedPrioritise and carry out maintenance as requested by Departments on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of all hotel departments.Record meter readings and liaise with the General Manager regarding options to improve energy management and conservation.Be responsible for the checking fire board, alarms, emergency lighting etc. on a routine basis as required by local Council and Fire Service.Be available to carry out emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours, as required for: full power failure, evacuation fire system re-set and / or failure of mechanical systems.Liaise closely with Front Desk and Housekeeping regarding down rooms to expedite a quick turn around and return to inventory.Ensure the external areas of the hotel are neat and tidy and maintained in line with Company standards.Attend and actively participate in daily meetings respecting the confidentiality of issues, which may be discussed formally or informally.Prepare monthly Maintenance reports, commenting on key performance indicators and action taken to keep on target.Adherence to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring that enquiries from the media are only responded to by the nominated spokespersonBe careful - Dont provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
