With more than 200 years of combined industry knowledge, we help customers maximise uptime, reduce risk, and extract long-term value from their equipment.As part of our rapidly expanding service and aftermarket organisation, we are seeking a Spare Parts Interpreter who is passionate about keeping equipment running, extending machine life, and helping customers succeed long after commissioning.This is a technically demanding role where your expertise directly supports:Service activities and shutdownsLifecycle extensions and rebuildsUpgrades, refurbishments, and obsolescence managementCritical uptime and availability targetsYou will be a trusted technical advisor supporting field service teams, maintenance crews, and customers to ensure the right parts are identified, sourced, and delivered at the right time.What Youll Be DoingDrive Service Excellence & Customer OutcomesAct as the primary point of contact for complex, high-value, and time-critical spare parts requests supporting service activitiesPartner with customers to ensure parts solutions align with maintenance strategies and lifecycle objectivesProvide expert guidance on parts selection, compatibility, and installation considerations to extend asset life and improve reliabilityMaster Complex Parts Identification & SourcingInterpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, 3D models, and OEM documentation across legacy and current equipmentIdentify solutions for obsolete, non-standard, or life-of-asset componentsCollaborate with engineering to develop alternative or upgraded parts where original designs are no longer viableCoordinate urgent procurement and expedited logistics during breakdowns, shutdowns, and critical service eventsSupport Lifecycle Planning & Inventory StrategyProvide technical input into inventory forecasting for shutdowns, rebuilds, and life-extension projectsRecommend stocking strategies for critical spares and long-lead items to minimise downtime riskSupport obsolescence planning and lifecycle cost optimisationSupports inventory accuracy, availability and optimisation outcomes.Improve Processes & Technical KnowledgeIdentify gaps in parts catalogues, service documentation, and technical dataContribute to technical bulletins, lifecycle guidance notes, and best-practice service documentationHelp improve turnaround times, accuracy, and service responsivenessSafety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure all activities comply with WHS requirements, OEM standards, and safe work practicesMaintain strict adherence to QMS and ISO 9001:2015 standardsKeep accurate records to support traceability, audits, and continuous improvementCollaborate Across the Service EcosystemWork closely with field service, engineering, procurement, and supply chain teamsEngage directly with OEM suppliers and technical representatives to resolve complex service and lifecycle challengesWhat You BringPlease note - we will not be considering applicants who do not hold an engineering degree.QualificationsBachelors degree or diploma in Engineering.Experience & Expertise7+ years experience in spare parts interpretation, service, or aftermarket support within OEM or heavy industryStrong background supporting service activities, shutdowns, rebuilds, or asset lifecycle extensionsDemonstrated ability to identify and source complex, legacy, or obsolete componentsDeep technical understanding of OEM materials handling equipment and parts compatibilityAdvanced ERP and inventory management skills (EPICOR preferred)High proficiency in Microsoft OfficeSandvik materials handling experience (highly regarded)Why KOCH Solutions?Be part of a fast-growing global OEM and service organisationPlay a critical role in extending the life of major mining assets worldwideWork with iconic equipment and an enormous global installed baseJoin a collaborative, technically driven service culture where expertise is valuedBuild a long-term career in a business investing heavily in people, systems, and service capabilityPrevious applicants need not re-apply.Interviewing will commence immediately and we reserve the right to make an appointment as soon as a suitable candidate is found.Be careful - Dont provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
