Most importantly, you''re curious, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a high-performing team.The RoleAs the Research Grants and Development Officer, you''ll play a key role in supporting the Institute''s research funding activities. Reporting to the Head of Research Grants and Development, you''ll assist with the compliance and management of grant applications - from identifying funding opportunities and coordinating submissions, to supporting post-award processes and contributing to departmental reporting. This is a varied and rewarding role with scope to grow and shape your responsibilities based on your skills and experience.What We Will Trust You WithIdentifying and communicating suitable funding opportunitiesReviewing grant applications for compliance and completenessAssisting researchers with application development and budgetingLiaising with UNSW and funders to submit funding applicationsFacilitating execution of funding agreements and variation requestsMaintaining the grants management database including grant related ethics approvals, data management plans, and milestone reportsProofreading or comprehensively reviewing applications depending on experienceCoordinating internal funding rounds and approvalsContributing to departmental reporting, meetings, and performance metricsDoes This Sound Like You?You have strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skillsYou are confident interpreting complex guidelines and policiesOrganised, and able to manage multiple deadlinesYou enjoy supporting researchers and contributing to impactful workComfortable using Microsoft Office and database systemsExperience (or interest) in grants administration and complianceYou are proactive and able to work independently with sound judgementYou are a team player who builds strong working relationshipsYou have a science or medical science background (preferred)About UsThe Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (the Institute) is dedicated to finding cures for cardiovascular disease and is one of the most respected heart research facilities in the world.
