Business Unit: Aerial Work PlatformsDepartment: ServiceDepartmentReporting To: Service Manager AustraliaBase Location: Sydney, NSWAdditional Support: Remote technical support to New Zealand as requiredPosition PurposeThe Service Technician / Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of aerial work platforms to ensure safe operation, compliance with Australian standards, and high levels of equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site service, maintenance, and repair of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers.Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and control system faults.Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections.Complete Australian market compliance upgrades and machine configurations, including Tier 1 configuration where required.Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), commissioning, and machine handover.Provide basic operator instruction and machine familiarisation when required.Accurately complete service reports, inspection records, and job documentation.Liaise with the service team and Head Office technical support to resolve technical issues.Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in a safe and serviceable condition.Work in accordance with company EHS policies and Australian safety regulations.Experience & Technical RequirementsMinimum 3 years'' experience servicing MEWP / AWP / telehandler or similar mobile plant equipment.Experience with access equipment brands such as Zoomlion, JLG, Genie, Dingli, Haulotte, Manitou, or equivalent.Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.Basic diesel engine knowledge, including Kubota and Cummins engines.Understanding of Australian access equipment compliance requirements.Licences & Certifications (Mandatory)Construction White CardEWP Licence (Yellow Card or equivalent)High Risk Work Licence WP ClassValid Australian Driver''s LicencePersonal AttributesAble to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.Practical, trade-focused approach to work.Clear communication and customer awareness.Willingness to travel within the service territory.Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. #J-18808-Ljbffr
