Staff are a resource for education and training and provide information to all levels and disciplines of hospital staff, students, and external agencies. Requests are accepted directly from medical officers for all inpatients and outpatients of the Mackay Base Hospital, from other regional hospitals and private external medical practitioners. The unit operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with afterhours oncall services required as part of a rostered service cover.About Our Hospital and Health ServiceMackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multipurpose health services and 4 community health centres, employing more than 3,700 staff.
