Case Manager - NugelVACCA - Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community AgencyLocation: Werribee, VIC, AustraliaEmployment type: Permanent Full TimeSalary: $88,892 to $95,645 plus super and salary packaging optionsAbout The RoleReporting to the Team Leader, the Nugel Case Manager will have the opportunity to make a reallife difference in the lives of Aboriginal children and families involved in the child protection system.This position will be responsible for working with Aboriginal children and families, and Government and sector partners to strive for better outcomes for children and to build the capacity of families, so that children can remain at home safely, or can be transitioned home.Nugel implements Section 18 of the Child Youth and Families Act (CYFA) which transfers responsibility for decision making and direct work with Aboriginal children and their families from Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Child Protection to VACCA.ResponsibilitiesWork with Aboriginal children and families to build capacity and support positive outcomes.Collaborate with Government and sector partners to achieve child protection goals.Implement culturally safe casework approaches in line with legislation and policy.Conduct comprehensive assessments, including risk assessments.Develop, implement, and review care plans for children and young people.Prepare accurate documentation: case notes, incident reports, court reports.Advocate for children and families within child protection system.Maintain professional communication with external stakeholders.QualificationsCommitment to VACCA''s Vision and Aboriginal Cultural Awareness.Strong understanding of child development, attachment, and trauma, particularly in relation to Aboriginal children.Experience in trauma-informed and culturally safe casework.Excellent yarning, deep listening, negotiation skills with Aboriginal children and families.Proven ability to collaborate with external stakeholders.Experience conducting risk assessments and developing care plans.Strong report writing skills.Resilience and teamwork in complex and fast-paced environments.Commitment to self-care and supporting the team.Requirements: recognised Social Work degree or diploma of Community Services, Valid Police Check, Working with Children''s Check, Victorian Driver Licence.Current COVID-19 vaccination recommended.What We Offer5 weeks annual leaveAccess to child protection and VACCA training programsExtensive support and training from VACCA''s in-house legal serviceA supportive environment that includes comprehensive induction and regular internal supervisionProfessional development and training opportunitiesAttractive salary packaging to increase your take home payFitness Passport - allowing you (and your family) access to any of the facilities available on this program17.5% loading on annual leaveAccess to agency vehicles for all work-related travelAccess to Employee support and wellbeing programsPaid parental leave after 12 months of ongoing employmentOpportunity to work and build connection with the Aboriginal Community and cultureApplicationWe strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands peoples to apply.Applications should include a cover letter addressing the key selection criteria and current resume.
