It covers a huge area of Scotland, from Thurso and Wick in the very north of the Highlands down to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling.We''re looking for a proactive and organised Assistant Roads Manager to join our dedicated Planned Maintenance team on a fulltime basis. In this key role, you''ll support the delivery of essential road maintenance across some of Scotland''s most iconic routes.Reporting to the Planned Maintenance Manager, you''ll take charge of the daytoday management of a skilled team, overseeing the delivery of both Structural Maintenance and Routine Maintenance programmes within your designated area. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a handson role in maintaining and improving vital infrastructure while developing your leadership skills in a supportive and forwardthinking environment.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Planned Maintenance Manager and Roads Manager in ensuring all operations are delivered in line with contract requirements, maintaining high standards across the board.Oversee the daytoday activities of a dedicated team responsible for delivering both structural and routine road maintenance within your region. You''ll ensure budgets are fully utilised and financial targets are met.Plan and manage a steady pipeline of work for both internal teams and subcontractors, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery across all projects.Act as Principal Designer or Principal Contractor when required, ensuring all scheme designs are safe, fit for purpose, and compliant with relevant technical standards and risk assessments.Uphold all company policies and procedures, and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, CDM regulations, environmental standards, and accessibility requirements.
