Join to apply for the Elect Monitoring Surveillance Off role at Queensland Corrective ServicesResponsibilitiesThe High-Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole. It comprises the following work groups:HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from Wacol;HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville;The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the state-wide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.This talent pipeline is open for candidates to register their interest as an Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Officer for various casual employment opportunities throughout the next 12 months. When an opportunity arises, you will be notified that recruitment is progressing.SkillsExperience in, and understanding of, supervision and surveillance practices in a human services or related fieldExperience in a criminal justice environment or similar human services/regulatory agencyAbility to engage with community groups and/or external service providersAbility to work collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgroundsKnowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and proceduresExceptional interpersonal and relationship management skillsSound judgement, initiative and maturity in conflict resolutionConfidence, flexibility and resilienceNegotiation skillsRisk identificationComputer and keyboard skillsMandatory RequirementsThe incumbent will be required to undertake and successfully complete internal pre-service training and associated accreditations, and ongoing training and professional development relevant to the role.Possession of C Class driver''s licence.Other Conditions and RequirementsThis position involves shift work as the role supports the 24/7 monitoring of offenders in the community.
