This includes developing, implementing, and reviewing research ethics and related policies and procedures, managing internal and external reporting and reviews and ensuring the provision of excellent research ethics advice, services and support to La Trobe University''s human research ethics review bodies and the La Trobe research community.You will work closely with the Manager, Research Ethics in leading, managing and developing members of the team to provide credible and reliable expert advice to the La Trobe research community and senior management.Skills and ExperienceA postgraduate degree or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with a minimum of 5 years'' experience in managing human research ethics administration, preferably in the Higher Education Sector.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and guidelines and the ability to quickly provide clear and consistent advice and support to researchers and the human research ethics review bodies on the ethical conduct of research and regulatory obligations.Considerable experience in the interpretation and application of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.Demonstrated management and leadership skills with capability to manage and lead staff to foster a cohesive and effective team and managing workflows.Knowledge of best practice in providing customer service and working in a customer service environment.Extensive experience in managing ethics committees, including appointments, terms of reference and operating procedures, in an academic or other relevant environment.Ability to develop training materials and coordinate and deliver effective training to stakeholders relevant to human research ethics across multiple academic areas.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage consultative relationships with key research stakeholders in relevant areas.Discounts for staff and their family members to study a range of La Trobe coursesHow to applyClosing date: By 11:55pm Sunday, 18 January 2026Position Enquiries: Mark Li, Email: [email protected] Enquiries: [email protected] refer to the Position Description located at www.latrobe.esu.au/jobs for other duties, skills and experience required for this position.Only candidates with Full Working Rights in Australia may apply for this position.Please submit an online application ONLY and include the following documents:An up to date resume;A separate document addressing responses to the essential criteria located within the PDPrevious applicants need not apply.Please scroll down to apply.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ApplicantsWe welcome and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.La Trobe University is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
