Governance, Assurance and Compliance SpecialistThe Governance, Assurance and Compliance Specialist role at Telstra Health supports Telstra Health''s vision of delivering a connected digital health environment. Reporting to the Senior Governance, Assurance and Compliance Specialist, this role ensures the organisation''s compliance framework and assurance activities are robust and aligned with goals to improve healthcare delivery through technology.What''s the opportunity?This is a Full-time, 12 months Fixed Term Contract.About the role:OverviewBy maintaining a strong compliance framework and overseeing enterprise-wide assurance initiatives, the Governance, Assurance and Compliance Specialist ensures that Telstra Health''s systems, processes, and innovations meet regulatory standards and operate seamlessly, delivering on key accountabilities described below.Assurance ProcessesUnder the supervision of the Senior Governance, Assurance and Compliance Specialist, plan and support the execution of assigned assurance activities as per the second line Assurance Plan, including assurance reviews and controls testing.Assist in the development of the Annual Assurance Plan.Ensure high quality work aligned with Telstra Health''s Risk Management Framework, Risk Management Standard and Assurance Methodology.Deliver independent, risk-based assessments of the effectiveness of processes, controls, and the compliance environment of Telstra Health.Support the delivery of quality workpapers, walkthroughs, risk and control identification, control design and operating effectiveness assessments and consequence analysis.Assist in drafting assurance engagement reports to communicate outcomes to Executive.Assess management''s actions to address risks identified through the Annual Assurance Plan.Compliance ProcessSupport the development and ongoing maintenance of the Compliance Framework to support compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Help the business maintain the compliance obligations register.Develop and maintain processes for identifying and responding to regulatory changes.Support the first line of defence''s compliance capabilities, including providing compliance tools, templates, systems and training.Assist in assessing gifts and benefits and conflicts of interest declarations to ensure compliance with Telstra policies.Demonstrate strong business acumen and resilience to navigate complex matters and support others to make informed decisions.Stakeholder Engagement and CommunicationDevelop and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.Demonstrate exceptional communication and influencing skills at senior management levels to assist with assurance and compliance awareness, activities and decision-making.About you:2+ years'' experience in a compliance or audit role.Experience in delivering internal audits, reviews, controls testing and health checks.Developing understanding of compliance frameworks and assurance programs.Stakeholder engagement and management skills, authenticity and willingness to continually develop to influence outcomes.Problem solving and decision-making skills.Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.Ability to work in a small team to deliver multiple outcomes.Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.Continuous process improvement mindset.Experience in performing effective compliance and assurance activities across an organisation.Desirable: Experience in a professional services environment with exposure to high standards, structured processes, and stakeholder management.Qualifications: Degree or equivalent experience in assurance, compliance, or auditingWhy join Telstra Health:Flexible work culture that supports work-life harmony.Fast-paced environment with opportunity for change and growth; entrepreneurial spirit and meaningful projects.Career growth opportunities within the organisation through internal progression.Opportunity to tackle challenges in the health and aged care sector.We are inclusive and supportive and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
