This role supports strategic and operational goals through quality improvement, workforce capability development, and interprofessional collaboration.The Role will encompass but is not limited to:Lead the Clinical Coding function to ensure accurate and timely clinical coding across all Nexus facilitiesFoster a collaborative and high-performance team cultureManage staffing, performance, and training of the coding workforceDesign and deliver targeted educational programs to strengthen workforce capability for both the coding and billing teamsPromote continuous improvement through feedback, coaching, and professional developmentEnsure coding practices comply with Australian Coding Standards, AR-DRG rules, and privacy legislation (Privacy Act 1988)Conduct audits and benchmarking to improve coding accuracy and data qualityStakeholder Engagement & Strategic AlignmentCollaborating with and contributing to the wider Nexus Hospitals communityAbout you:Bachelor''s degree in Health Information Management or equivalent Clinical Coding qualificationMinimum 5 years of experience in Clinical Coding with a strong knowledge of Australian Coding StandardsDemonstrated leadership experience managing teams and ability to work within a team environment and inspire othersExceptional interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skillsComprehensive understanding of privacy and medico-legal legislationExperience with 3M/Solventum Codefinder softwareFamiliarity with hospital reimbursement systems and health fund contractingAn analytical thinker with strong time management, technical proficiency and attention to detailCommitment to continuous improvement and professional developmentThe Nexus Hospitals Story:Our Toowong Support Office is part of the Nexus Hospitals group.Nexus Hospitals is a leading Australian Private Hospital group that employs over 1500 talented and passionate people across 22 hospitals and 3 support offices.
