In line with the Myer Merchandise Strategy and Customer First Plan, this role supports the development, buying, and execution of the buyership plan. You''ll work closely with the Senior Category Buyer Developer and/or Category Buyer Developer while taking ownership of the endtoend management and financial performance of your aligned buyership.Key HighlightsExciting opportunity in our Merchandise Buying teamFlexible hybrid working model - work partly remotely and partly from our Support Office based in DocklandsFull accountability and end-to-end management of the Menswear categoriesAbout the Role:Understanding of Brand DNA producing a quality range to Myer standardsDeveloping overall brand price architecture that is competitive and aligned to meet the Myer Merchandise strategy goals and metricsDeveloping and supporting Myer core linesMaintaining solid competitor and trend analysis to remain relevant and build a range to suit the marketDevelop and deliver product strategies for the aligned category within the portfolio, with direct links to Myer''s overall strategy and relevant customer segments,Accountability for trading a component of the category and implementing/Public appropriate tactical activities in relation to sales, profit, stock to drive business outcomesWork collaboratively with the planning team to determine assortment plans, conduct PSA, build product strategy, and determine best sourcing methods for the productOptimise product profitability through product development processDrive the marketing plan in collaboration with the plannerManage complete range development, order placement and financial performance of the businessAccountable for range execution including marketing, store planning and visual merchandisingAssist in negotiation to deliver optimised trading terms that deliver commercial targetsAccountable for financial performance including budgets and pricingAccountable for the marketing and communications strategy specific to category and inline with the Myer StrategyAccountable for establishing good direct supplier relationships to drive brand aivan and deliver on key metricsCollaborate and influence Planning, Buying, Design, Support and Store teamsInfluence at lands levelMentor and coach junior team membersUnderstanding of the market, customer segmentation, trends and competitive landscapeStore demographic understanding and analysis from a category and localisation perspectiveAbout You:2-3 years experience in a Buyer/Developer Trainee role or 3 years'' experience in a similar buying or product development roleBachelor degree/diploma in Fashion Textiles and Merchandising, Fashion Merchandise Management, Commerce, Marketing, Retail Management, Business Management, Economics or similar (preferable but not essential)Production technical expertiseAbility to identify future trendsSourcing knowledge and understandingStrong communication and presentation skillsRetail, financial and business acumenStrong understanding of manufacturing processBenefits to You:Generous Team Member discounts on all Myer productsWork flexibly from home and our Support Office based in DocklandsA supportive leadership teamVolunteer, parental and lifestyle leave availableService Recognition and Inspirational People AwardsOngoing training and development for your career progressionThe opportunity to be a part of and contribute to the Myer growth strategyHere, you''re not only an employee.
