Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (including but not limited to)Responsible for submission of Minesite tenders and proposals including :Laboratory layout and conceptual designEquipment selectionAnalytical method selectionStaffingImplementation PlanOperational costsCapital expenditure investmentPreparation of financial costing spreadsheets and supporting justification and approval papersManage and facilitate tender submission requirements from support functions (HSE, HR, QAQC, Legal Review, Corporate)For successful bids :Liaising with clients to refine proposalsLiaise with Intertek technical experts for customised methodology where requiredAnalytical testwork if requiredFollowing approvals in line with Intertek''s Core Mandatory Controls proceed with procurement of capital investment items and equipmentSupporting and handing over to the Mine Site Projects operations Team for installation and commissioning.Assisting with site installation and commissioning if requiredCollaborate and co-ordinate with the Geochemistry business where the client requires both onsite and offsite servicesStakeholder engagement & liaison.Selection criteriaThe ideal candidate will possess the following skills / qualifications :A relevant tertiary qualification in scienceMinerals industry experience and contacts :Experience in minerals laboratories including at least 5 years'' experience in leadership rolesUnderstanding of the mining lifecycle with an emphasis on sampling, processing and analysis and Intertek''s service offering across the life cycleStrong technical knowledge for a range of major commoditiesUnderstanding of quality, accreditation and HSE requirements to meet client and industry standardsKnowledge of and experience with ISO 17025 and ISO 45001 accreditations and their requirementsExcellent communication skills both written and verbalStrong organisational skillsStrong IT skills and ability to use all key Microsoft systems, CRM''sStrong customer service orientationSelf-motivated with strong attention to detailUnderstand P&L and laboratory costingsAbility to work autonomously and as part of a high performing teamContinuous improvement, staying abreast of innovations and potential implementations to improve process flows or offer new value add servicesTravel to minesites and client offices as requiredCultureIntertek is a global organisation which respects diverse perspectives, experiences, and traditions as essential, and values each employee''s contribution towards achieving its business objectives.Remuneration & benefitsYou will enjoy a salary package commensurate with experience.
