Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia''s future.Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.We currently have an opportunity for an ILS Officer in Canberra to work on Space projects.What You''ll DoThis role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:Major Defence Project Delivery: Contribute to CASG ACAT 1 projects, supporting large-scale Defence acquisition and sustainment programs.Industry & Government Engagement: Lead approaches to industry (e.g., RFIs) and government processes, including Investment Committee submissions and gate reviews.Logistics Documentation Development: Prepare and review Gate 1 and Gate 2 artefacts such as Cabinet Submissions, Project Execution Strategies, Capability Definition Documents, and supporting materials.ILS & Capability Support: Assist the ILS Manager with ILSC/ILSP development, revisit Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) requirements, and contribute to drafting support contracts.Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate workshops with Configuration Management (CM) teams and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure program success.What You''ll BringMajor Defence Project Experience: Demonstrated involvement in CASG ACAT 1 projects, including management of large-scale Defence acquisition programs.Industry & Government Engagement: Skilled in developing approaches to industry (e.g., RFIs) and government processes, including Investment Committee submissions and gate reviews.Logistics Documentation Development: Experience preparing and reviewing Gate 1 and Gate 2 documentation such as Cabinet Submissions, Project Execution Strategies, Capability Definition Documents, and supporting artefacts.ILS & FIC Expertise: Ability to assist ILS managers with ILSC/ILSP development, revisit Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) requirements, and contribute to support contract drafting.Stakeholder Collaboration & Domain Knowledge: Strong facilitation skills for workshops with Configuration Management (CM) teams, with space domain experience considered advantageous.Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
