OverviewJob Title: Emergency Medicine - Staff Specialist or Senior Medical OfficerRemuneration: Up to $587,432 p.a.Position Type: Permanent Full-Time and/or Permanent Part-TimeWe are seeking dedicated Emergency Medicine Specialist to join a fast-paced emergency department in a renowned regional hospital. This facility is a 200+ bed hospital offering a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including acute and critical care, surgical services, intensive care, maternity, and rehabilitation.The emergency department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and provides high-quality care to a diverse patient population in a vibrant and growing community.ResponsibilitiesManage a diverse range of cases, including 25% paediatrics and a significant trauma caseload.Provide expert clinical services within the Clinical Services Capability Framework and clinical privileges granted.Assist satellite hospitals and rural sites through Telehealth and in-person support.Contribute to innovative pre-hospital care models, including HITH and GEDI programs.Engage in the development of a new Emergency Department.Enjoy flexible and equitable rostering that balances service needs with academic priorities.Potential involvement in the Regional Aeromedical Retrieval Service.Participate in a successful postgraduate education and training program, including ACEM fellowship and diploma training.Provide clinical supervision and training for junior medical staff, medical students, and other health professionals.What We OfferRemuneration: Up to $587,432 p.a., with additional benefits including superannuation, leave loading, professional development allowance, and on-call allowances.Work Environment: Modern 192-bed hospital with trauma services, major medical and surgical specialties, and a fully equipped medical library.Professional Support: Extensive support for professional development and training, including postgraduate education and ACEM fellowship training.RequirementsSpecialist qualifications in Emergency Medicine (FACEM or equivalent).Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to providing high-quality patient care in an acute setting.About the RegionLocation: Tropical North Queensland, offering relaxed rural and coastal living.Community: Serves a population of over 180,000 with diverse economic activities and excellent lifestyle amenities.Climate: Ideal for outdoor living with beautiful beaches and natural surroundings.Education & Recreation: High-quality schools, sporting clubs, and excellent facilities.The region offers a unique combination of a relaxed coastal lifestyle with easy access to vibrant city amenities.
