TYPE OF WORK: 100% Small Animal (including wildlife) HOURS: Full Time SALARY: Commensurate with experience JOB NO: 222,338SB2 Fun, vibrant team Varied caseload Independently owned A privately owned practice in Darwin is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic vet nurse to join their friendly team. The position is full-time. The roster is either a 4 or 5 day week with some Saturdays and one night per week on-call required. Weekday shifts are 8 hours. The employers are committed to ensuring a good work-life balance for all their staff. The successful applicant can choose between a nursing-only role or nursing with some reception work if desired. You will be joining a small team of vibrant, fun nurses and vets who enjoy supporting each other as they work through their procedures for the day. The team also enjoy regular staff lunches, morning coffees and snacks. The practice sees a varied caseload, including a wide variety of wildlife. The team works closely with the local wildlife rescue groups. A visiting specialist joins the team every second month to do soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries. This long-established, locally owned small animal hospital is fully air-conditioned, spacious and well-equipped, with two dedicated operating theatres, a large prep room, in-clinic pathology, endoscopy, digital radiography and ultrasound. Sponsorship (work permit) available for suitably qualified and experienced overseas nurses. The relaxed city of Darwin boasts a great climate. It is close to national parks and offers the opportunity to enjoy the laid-back tropical lifestyle of the Northern Territory and its endless outdoor activities. Bushwalking in the outback, camping, fishing, and horse riding are all on the doorstep.
